"Diana's Rose" is a commission that has just come off the easel.   I must say I really enjoyed painting this piece.   I am not one to paint a lot of flowers and roses are not easy to paint (at least for me).  But I just couldn't wait to get to the point where I could paint the water drops......such fun!  Perhaps the biggest challenge was the fact that the rose and the vase were two different photos provided.  Putting them together, adding the leaves (not in either photo), and adjusting the lighting was a new challenge for me.  I really enjoyed creating the vignette background in  the the complimentary color of green for the red rose.  I was happy with the result.....as is the new owner!
