Despite all the activities around the holidays and a two week vacation in Hawaii, I did manage to complete a painting last month.  "G is for Gumballs" is the newest in my alphabet block series.  The 6" x 6" oil on panel is the result of a discussion with a group of friends at a local restaurant.  I mentioned I had not made a decision on my subject for G and someone mentioned gumballs.  Eureka!!  That was it!  I actually found a bag of gumballs at my local Hallmark store much to my surprise.  I was in there buying some ribbon for a holiday project and there they were.  From the beginning I visualized the gumballs falling from the spout of a gumball machine.....but since I did not have one and would be making one up I decided to feature just a spout coming from the side.  I think the part I like best in this piece are the reflections on the table.  Enjoy!!
