"Day's End" finally rolled off the easel!  I say finally because the sunflowers in this piece went through 3 revisions before I finally put the pastels away.  I am very happy with the results.....but this piece most certainly does not fall into "it painted itself" category.  I love sunflowers so I guess it was worth the struggle.  And of course, as with every piece that has been a struggle for me, I learned a lot.  There were hours when I came close to cropping this piece down to just the hat and the gloves which I was happy with from the time I painted them.  I must admit.....I like them much better with the sunflowers.  "Day's End" is 24" x 18" on dry mounted UArt pastel paper.
