"Salsa Makings" rolled off the easel this morning.....and not a moment too soon.  This 18" x 24" pastel painting is the last painting I wanted to have ready for my solo show which opens next week.  I am delivering the paintings tomorrow to the gallery.  "Salsa Makings" was framed this afternoon and added to the stack of paintings ready for delivery.  Whew!  This painting is a followup to the painting, "Margarita Makings".  It has a similar background and I used the table linens I have used in the pas.  However, I wanted some of the salsa ingredients to be in the process of being cut and prepared for the salsa on a cutting board.  The cutting board was a new challenge due to the angle and the fact that it hangs over the table edge.   I love a good challenge!  I am thinking a piece based on guacamole may be fun for another painting......hmmmmm.......could be interesting.  What do you think??
