"Granny and Friends II" is another painting that is a direct result of my husband's grocery shopping.  He came home with these two luscious black plums with the blue violet tones.  I immediately began visualizing them with a Granny Smith apple and a darker green background.  Out came the camera to capture the setup as I wasn't sure the plums would last the required painting time......less because of spoilage than because I wanted to eat them!  I also used the white tea towel once again.   have used this tea towel a number of times....and never have I painted the lacey openings exactly as they are....they are always a starting point for my imagination.  The same is true of this table top...it does not exist.  I set up the piece on a cardboard box.   The table is a figment of my imagination.  I don't think I have the space or money for all the cloths and tables I would want to have for my still life setups, so a fertile imagination is great to have in my art career!
