Introducing "Light Martini", a 20" x 16" oil on panel painting.  The idea for this painting originated from a recent painting by my talented artist friend, Sandra Busby, in England.   She painted a beautiful piece of a hand wrapped in fairy lights.....very impressive as all her work tends to be.  You can view the painting titled "Light Sensation" here.   As I admired her painting the thought went through my head as to how fairy lights would look up against glass....in particular a martini glass of course.  I quickly hit Amazon and ordered some fairy lights.  Lo and behold "Light Martini" came to life on my setup stand.  I must admit it was a little bit of a challenge to paint the lights.   Although the lights are white the glow has a yellow cast as do the reflections on the table top.  After a bit of trial and error I am happy with the results.  In fact, I am already started on another piece with fairy lights.    I think I am hooked!
