Introducing "Gumball-tini", my latest painting.  "Gumball-tini" is a 20"x 16" oil on panel painting that once again uses the black and white striped table top with the resultant reflections on the rest of the actors on stage.  In this case the reflections fall on both the martini glass of brightly colored gumballs and the gumballs on the tabletop.  I purchased the gumballs for my "G is for Gumballs" painting in my Alphabet Block Series.  Their bright colors caught my eye recently as I was looking for something in my still life storage area and I wondered if they would reflect the black and white stripes in a way similar to the pool balls in my last two paintings.  I soon found they did and I began trying a variety of setups finally settling on the martini glass.  The ribbon was added to balance and soften the composition.  This particular ribbon has waited in one of my drawers of still life material for it's time on stage.  It is a beautiful two-sided piece of ribbon and the two colors just happen to be complementary colors that help develop the color harmony of the composition.
