Introducing my latest painting, "On The Road Again", a 16" x 20" oil on panel.  I love to travel and have especially enjoyed my travels to Europe where one can see amazing art and walk through history.  As I was preparing for my trip to Spain this last fall it occurred to me that some of the items I was pulling together for the trip would make for a great still life setup.....and thus "On The Road Again" came to be.  Of course as I was setting it up it did not occur to me how much lettering was involved.....and have you ever really looked at the paper bills for any country???  Oh my!  I loved the colors of the English pound note....until I realized I would be painting Queen Elizabeth.  I do not do portraits so this was a new challenge.  Needless to say with all the detail this painting took awhile but I am happy with the result.  Like it has for me, I hope it gives you warm memories of some of your travels even if they were not to Europe.  

It is always good news when you hear that your entries into an art exhibit have been accepted.  That was the case when I learned that both "Chocolate Martini" (20"x16" oil on panel) and "Playing With Black and White"(20"x16" oil on panel) were accepted into the Artists in Arizona newest online exhibition "New Year, New Art".  Check out the exhibition here.
