R is for Rabbit

The third painting completed today in my alphabet block series is "R is for Rabbit".  As with the others in this series this painting is a 6" x 6" oil on panel.  The two stars in this painting came in last year's Easter basket.  Each year my brother-in-law sends me an Easter basket filled with candy and toys.  These two rubbery characters had their arms and legs wrapped around the basket's handle.  I have been waiting to get to the letter R to paint these two rabbits!

Q is for Queen

"Q is for Queen" is the second painting in my alphabet block series I recently completed.  Like all the paintings in this series it is a 6" x 6" oil on panel.  I loved the challenge of painting the playing cards.  I definitely put my fine detail brushes to work on this one.

T is for Truck

I finally found time to get back to my alphabet block series which has been on hold for awhile.  I varnished and photographed 3 new pieces of the collection this morning.  "T is for Truck" is a 6" x 6" oil on panel painting.  A few months ago my husband picked up this delightful toy truck while out shopping knowing how I like the retro look.  His purchase has been waiting patiently to be painted and will probably show up again in a future painting.  This truck has been jazzed up with mag wheels but still maintains the retro look......and what is not to like about the bright yellow color!

Unlocking the Past

Introducing "Unlocking the Past", my second painting of old keys. "Unlocking the Past" is a 30" x 30" oil on panel. As I shared when introducing my first keys painting, "Keys to the Past", when developing my setup I found myself with two compositions that I was excited about painting and decided to do both. "Keys to the Past", currently available at Vail Village Arts, was done as a 20' x 20" painting. For this second painting I decided to try a slightly larger format and decided on a 30" x 30" panel. Of course you would not be able to tell from the photos...but I must say the larger format is definitely eye catching in person!  "Unlocking the Past" will be available at Park Gallery in Carmel, CA.
