Reflections on 2012
Here we are at the last day of 2012. Amazing! What is it they say....."Time flies when you're having fun"? It is certainly true for me. Along with everyone else at this time of year I am reflecting back on 2012. I must say....I had an amazing year as an artist. This year brought amazing rewards for me as an artist:
- First and foremost is that I got to meet and get to know some new collectors. For any artist meeting someone who admires your work enough to put it in their home is the utmost pleasure!
- I earned my third signature status in pastel organizations. I am now a signature of the Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the Arizona Pastel Artists Association.
- I earned Master Circle status with the International Associational of Pastel societies,
- I was published in two art journals. I was one of four artists featured in an article in the Pastel Journal and I was featured as the spotlight artist in the Professional Artist.
- I won my first award in the annual Pastel Society of America show in NYC
- I successfully added oil painting as a second medium. By the end of the year I had sold an oil painting and had another oil painting juried into a national show.
- I have had the pleasure of working with collectors on commissioned paintings which is always a compliment!
- I am represented by two new galleries.
- I had my first solo show and my first two person show.
Yes....a very rewarding year......which only serves to pump me up for 2013! I have been developing my goals for 2013. Each year I write up my goals with action plans. In future blogs I hope you will see the results of those goals!
I sincerely hope your 2012 year was as exciting as mine....and that 2013 is just as exciting for all of us!!
