Granny and Friends

"Granny and Friends" is my latest painting....fresh off the easel with only two days of making repeated "final changes".  This painting came about when my husband recently returned home from grocery shopping with a bag of amazing cherries.  The cherries were unusually large and plump (and wonderful tasting as well)!  He had also purchased some Granny Smith apples.  I just knew I had to paint these magnificent specimens!  I pulled out the camera and my favorite tea towel.  Viola!  "Granny and Friends" is the first result.  Watch for the next piece of just some of the cherries on the tea towel.  I am still thinking of what a good title for the piece might be......got any ideas?

"Margarita"

"Margarita" (18 x 24 pastel) is my latest painting.  Margaritas are my very favorite drink and I enjoy making (and enjoying) margaritas made from scratch.  It just seemed to be a natural transition to design a composition for a painting with the ingredients for a margarita.  Although I was very enthused about the painting it was not one of those paintings that just painted itself.  This is actually the second version of the painting.  I describe the many changes this painting went through in my August newsletter.  If you are interested please visit my website where you will find access to previous newsletters including the August newsletter.  Feel free to sign up for my monthly newsletters while you are there!
