Introducing "Stars and Stripes" my latest painting to be declared finished, varnished and ready to face the world.  "Stars & Stripes" is an 8" x 10" oil painting on panel.  There is a small works show coming up and I decided to paint a piece to enter....thus "Stars and Stripes".  The stars are actually decor pieces off the wall of my living room.  I look at them every day and thought they might be fun to paint as they are rustic and the facets of the arms make for interesting shadows with the light coming from the left  just like the sunlight from my living room window each morning.   When I think of stars I automatically think of the term stars and stripes for our wonderful American flag......and I do like to paint stripes.  Bingo...."Stars and Stripes"!!
