My last completed painting for 2021 is "Bow and Arrows", a 16" x 16" oil on panel.  This painting came about when I stopped into a local Hallmark store which has post office services.  As I walked towards the back where the postal counter is located I saw this giant shiny red bow.  I thought it would be fun to paint with the reflections and of course the red color.  However, I did not want a Christmas painting.  Somewhere between the Hallmark store and home the phrase "bow and arrows" popped into my head and got stuck there.  Once home I did some googling for pictures of arrows since I certainly do not own one.  I wanted the bow to be the main attraction  with the arrows being supporting characters.   For some reason I saw one of the arrows going through the bow.  I am not sure what that symbolizes?  Maybe a subconscious thought as I recently lost a sister to dementia.  Interesting how that happens.
